We have just reached the half way mark in our Nurse, Dannielle’s Invisalign Journey. We had a few delays thrown in over Christmas, with a Covid episode and being very unwell, but we have reached half way!

How are you feeling?

Dannielle: Really good! The Invisalign ‘way of life’ has become much easier. I’ve developed my own routine and new habits that have become second nature. The people around me are really starting to notice the change in my teeth too!

Have they been painful?

Dannielle: No, I wouldn’t say painful. The first few days of a new set of trays always leaves me a little tender, but they soon settle down. I wouldn’t say any part of the Invisalign treatment has been particularly painful. Maybe just a little uncomfortable at times.

Dannielle – Half way point

Has there been anything you didn’t like or didn’t expect?

Dannielle: Only something very minor. The little attachments on my teeth can become discoloured. Admittedly I am a big Tea drinker and enjoy using lots of spices in my food such as Turmeric. (So it is something that I could control a bit better with my diet). I think regular hygienist appointments, and a little polish with the dentist on review appointments is the way forward to avoid this happening in the future.

What caused the delay in your treatment?

Dannielle: The delay was purely down to illness and nothing to do with the Invisalign treatment or service from the team. I was unfortunately very unwell with Covid followed by Tonsillitis and decided to keep the trays I was wearing in for an extended time until I returned to work.

Can you notice the difference?

Dannielle: Yes definitely! People around me are also starting to notice the difference it has made so far too!

When do you think you will be finished?

Dannielle: Providing everything runs smoothly from here forward, I’m estimated to finish around August time. I did have a full comprehensive case with quite a lot of trays. That would bring me in at around 11 months in total.
