Get healthier with the AV Team this summer…The temperatures are rising and we have finally hit that time of year where it’s too easy to binge on those yummy frozen treats.
We wanted to share with you some healthier alternatives that are not only better for your dental health, but your wallet too!
DIY Healthier Ice lollies and Ice creams can be very cost effective and so much better for the environment.
They can be used time and time again and you change the recipe to mix things up!
DIY Ice Lollies
Start by adding your favourite fruit (chopped) to your lolly mould. This is a great way to use up fruit that is just about to turn.
Add coconut water or Greek yogurt.
Push the sticks in, and freeze until set
DIY Ice Cream
This one is a firm favourite at the practice!
Start by peeling and chopping some very ripe bananas. Again this is another way to save any going to waste (the riper the better).
Freeze them (for at least 4 hours)
Pop them in the blender with a splash of your milk of choice. Blitz.
You can also add a scoop of protein powder, a tbsp of almond butter or a tbsp each of cacao and honey to change up the flavour.
The texture is VERY similar as Ice cream and equally as yummy.
You certainly don’t have to miss out on all the yummy summer treats this summer – perhaps just make a few swaps!
