Our lovely Qualified dental nurse Natalie shares her top 5 tips to keeping cool this summer.
1. Filling your hot water bottle with cold water (can be frozen too!)
Firstly having a dual use for something is always a win-win!
This works really well wherever you feel the need for it. For example, I really enjoyed laying my feet on it, as it cooled my whole body down.
2. Putting a bowl of Ice in front of a fan
It helps make the room so much cooler – a great way to keep cool this summer
However please be careful when putting any liquids near electrical equipment. The ice will eventually melt! I found it best to place a towel underneath the bowl (just in-case).
3. Insulated water bottles
A firm favourite at the practice! They keep your water cold all day long, which as a result, makes you more likely to drink it.
Keeping a refillable water bottle with you at all times is such a great way to get you to drink more water. Importantly, staying hydrated is so important for your health.
4. Running your wrists under cold water
This is a great one for when your out and about. If you’re feeling a little over-heated, nip in to the nearest restroom and run your wrists under the cold tap. As a result it cools your whole body down.
Another great way to keep cool this summer!
5. Paddling Pools aren’t just for children!
They are a great way to cool your whole body down on those hot summer days off.
Please make sure to apply a quality SPF, wear a hat and have plenty of breaks in the shade.
