We made it to Invisalign refinement stage!

We just wanted to share a quick update (as promised!) on Dannielle’s Invisalign Journey.

When you get to the last set of trays you may not have your final result. You may be required to have extra adjustments or ‘tweaks’. In this case one of the front teeth hadn’t got to the position that we wanted it to. (As shown in photo below)

Dannielle Invisalign Refinement stage

What happens now?

The little attachments or buttons as we call them, have been removed. We have taken new Impressions and sent them to Invisalign.

The case will now be discussed with Dannielle’s treating dentist (Dr Mozhgan) and a plan will be made to achieve Dannielle’s desired result.

Dannielle will then review the plan either remotely via a link, or with Dr Mozhgan for her Invisalign refinement stage, and then approve it.

Invisalign will send the new trays to the practice. New buttons/attachments will be added according to the new treatment plan.

In the meantime, Dannielle will wear the last set of trays (without the button on her teeth).

Is it normal to have an Invisalign refinement stage?

Absolutely! Although not every patient needs a refinement stage, if there is something you are not happy with, this is the time to discuss with your dentist.

With the Invisalign full comprehensive package you are entitled to an Invisalign refinement with no additional costs.
